This page aims to provide technical tips and helpful information regarding the use of the app.
Registering and Sign In
Initially accessing TCV requires users registration/signup. Registration can be obtained by providing an email address for the user name and a password. A validation code is sent, the app requies confirmation of this code. The code is only good for upto 15 minutes. Once validation is confirmed users are required to complete a final login. Once a user has logged in there shouldn't be a need to log in again for a substantial period. If a user forgets the password they can use the Help link located in the Barback page enabling the sending of a message. Account passwords are not reset, instead the account is deleted and endusers can reenter the email and provide a current password. Signup/Signin is not associated with any data, it is used to secure the features provided via the app.
The Storage of Data
No data is stored beyond the phone. However, account deletion is supported, If a user wants their account deleted, they can use the Help link located in the Barback page to send an email requesting account deletion.
The Inventory Storage
The app does not store private data. In fact, the inventory data regarding user ingredients is stored on the device. The device cloud backup may regain that data but it is not stored behond the phone.
Selecting Ingredients
The ingredient items are derived from a curated list of 400 drinks. The ingredients of each cocktail might constitute a unique ingredient and are represented the way they are in the cocktail record. The app does not yet provide substitution possibilities for ingredients. Here are some tips for ingredient selection:
- Water & Ice, I wish they were default, but they are not, easy selection
- Lemon, Lime, Orange. If you have these fruits then you have the juice and the peel (select all three)
- Triple Sec is listed under Alcohol>Schnapps & Liqueur
- If you havve 7-up or Sprite then you have Lemon-lime Soda
- An unattended flaming drink cracking the glassware and spilling the fire onto combustible surfaces
